My Purpose

My great joy is creating gardens that bring beauty, harmony, peace, and a place for my clients to connect with nature and enjoy year-round color. I am passionate about educating clients about sustainable practices.

Experience

With over 30 years experience as an award-winning landscape designer, I’ve designed residential and commercial projects, display gardens for the NW Flower and Garden Show, native plant restoration areas in public parks, and demonstration gardens.

As a Pacific Northwest native, I connected with nature at an early age, spending most of my time outside, building trails, camps and mini retreats in the woods behind our home.

Growing up with three generation of avid gardeners, I developed a love and appreciation for gardens at an early age.

I started out in the landscape industry hands on, operating  a wheelbarrow and shovel, and progressed to equipment operator, project manager, and designer/estimator. Having worked in installation, design, and maintenance gives me a depth of experience and a well-rounded approach to design. Formal education in design and horticulture complements this field experience.

I am a Certified Professional Horticulturist, a member of Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association, the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, the Washington Native Plant Society, and WashingtonTrails Association.

Related Interests

When not creating gardens, I can be found out in the woods and mountains appreciating nature at her finest and receiving inspiration for future designs. I teach landscape classes at several local nurseries, parks departments, and continuing education programs.

I am also a photographer and garden writer.
